In March of 1997, I was preparing for a career relocation to Chicago. As I was readying my Anderson Township home for the market, I realized that I simply did not have enough time to do the remaining painting myself. Hiring a professional would not only save my precious time, but most likely my sanity as well.
My real estate agent recommended a well-established and reliable painter that she happened to know. He came by, gave the estimate and started the job the following week. Unfortunately, on his third day on the job he hopped out of the back of his van and injured his ankle. The doctors immediately put him in a cast and said that surgery was most likely eminent.
He called and explained what had happened (I had been out of town) and asked if I would mind if he sent in another painter to finish the job. I was on a deadline to get the house sold and felt awful that he had injured himself and so, of course, I agreed.
That same evening, Steve Earle called to schedule a time to complete the job. He arrived at our agreed upon time and spent the next four days painting my kitchen, basement and the half bath.
The quality of his workmanship was so impressive that I married him!
